Blended learning

Blended learning combines the best of face-to-face and online instruction.

Sometimes work schedules or spread out staff locations make it hard to get everyone together in a room for face-to-face training. Or perhaps your staff prefer to work alone for at least some of their training.

We can build you a learning solution that blends the best of face-to-face training with online learning.

What we do

We bring participants together in the classroom for those crucial interpersonal interactions, group activities and a shot of inspiration from the trainer.

We combine this with online activities, on our learning management system or yours. This includes instruction, reading, exercises, quizzes and, where feasible, online interaction to bring the course content alive.

Participants can work at their own pace, but will have defined milestones to meet.

They said it...

I was really impressed with the course. I went into it as a business unit leader assuming he knew how to write well after 25 years of work experience, and came out overflowing with ideas and techniques to make my writing more logical, direct and accessible. It was really useful to start with the online programme and come into the workshop having already attempted to write a new document using the new techniques. The workshop was focused, and as stimulating for the new graduates as for the senior managers. Since we finished, I’ve been encouraging anyone in our organisation who writes as part of their job to sign up, particularly our senior staff.

Raising writing standards

Effective organisations understand the power of clear writing.

Raising the bar on writing standards in an organisation takes more than training individuals. It requires a culture shift, where writing clearly, in plain language, becomes ‘how we do things around here’.

Taking an organisation-wide approach to improving writing standards will increase your efficiency, strengthen your brand and ensure you get the best value from your investment in writing training.

What we do

We help you build a clear-writing culture in your organisation by:

  • reviewing how accessible and effective your organisation’s current communications are
  • helping you develop systems and processes that support good communication practice
  • training your staff and supporting plain language champions
  • developing style guides, writers’ guides, policies and templates
  • rewriting form letters and text blocks.

We experienced the total package from Lynne - from rewriting our letter templates to customised training. This created a culture change in writing in our team. She made learning easy with her fun, easy going manner. The team loved her and the training. Thanks for making it a great learning experience.

Lee Jenkins, Team Leader Adjudication, Parking and Enforcement, Auckland Transport

Lynne’s letter writing course was an invaluable experience for the whole adjudication team. Lynne helped us re-write our entire portfolio of templates and then at the training she explained the reasoning behind her writing style. She taught us how to write smarter and more to the point letters and not write novels as we previously had done. We all now have a much better understanding on how to write a good letter. I would recommend anyone who writes letters to attend a course with Lynne.

Our work wins an award

In 2004, Lynne was awarded the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Gold Quill Excellence Award. It recognised her achievements in driving a plain language and communication improvement programme at the former Auckland City Council.

Your project demonstrated world-class standards in strategic communications. We are proud to salute your achievement. The entry’s greatest strengths are the excellent, well thought out plan, strong understanding of the audience, great alignment with their needs, and consistent images and messages that ensure a strong campaign.
